Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Thursday Location: Harvest Elementary

Ready to Join the Pre-Academy Program?
At City SC Utah South, our Pre-Academy is designed to help young players fall in love with the game in a positive, energetic, and development-focused environment. Led by Pre-Academy Director Coach Nick Christensen, this program introduces players ages 4–8 to soccer through fun, movement, creativity, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Modern player development research consistently shows that young children learn best through play-based activities, guided discovery, and small-sided games rather than overly structured or pressure-filled environments. At these early ages, the focus should not be on winning or standings — it should be on maximizing touches on the ball, building coordination, developing confidence, encouraging creativity, and helping children enjoy the game.
Our Pre-Academy creates an environment where players can:
Develop confidence, and foundational soccer skills through engaging, age-appropriate, play-based training experiences.

- Improve coordination, balance, and athletic movement
- Learn foundational soccer techniques naturally through play

Foundational Technical Development
Coach Nick Christensen and the City SC Utah South staff focus heavily on foundational technical development, including:
- Ball control
- Dribbling
- Passing
- Shooting
- Turns and changes of direction
- Creativity and confidence on the ball
